Getting to Fluffy Paws from King West

From King and Bathurst it is a 15 to 20 minute walk: west on King, north on Shaw to Queen, then a short block west to Sudbury Street. From King and Strachan it is closer to 10 to 15 minutes. On transit, take the 504 King streetcar to King and Shaw and walk up Shaw to Queen; most clients driving in find Sudbury Street parking far easier than anything on King itself.

Around King West

  • Victoria Memorial Square at Wellington and Portland, the little historic park King West dog owners use as their informal morning meetup
  • The Stanley Park dog run at 700 Wellington St W, the fenced run many of our King West dogs already know before they meet us
  • The King and Portland restaurant strip, where more than one of our pickups has been timed suspiciously close to a dinner reservation

King West is our heaviest boarding neighbourhood: condo living plus frequent travel is the exact combination overnight care was built for. The weekday rhythm runs the other way too, with morning drop-offs before the 504 commute and late pickups that make our 9 PM window do real work on King West schedules.

A King West Regular

Take a French bulldog I'll call Bagel, whose owners live near King and Bathurst and travel more months than they stay put. Bagel started with us as a boarding guest, the classic King West pattern, and picked up one daycare day a week between trips so the place stayed familiar. Now drop-offs take eleven seconds: he hits the door already leaning toward his play room. His owners' last vacation was ten days in Portugal; his was ten days of wrestling matches and individual walks, and honestly it's unclear who came back more tired.

Dog Boarding for King West Residents

Many of our King West clients actually come to us for overnight boarding first — condo living and frequent travel go together. Boarding is $85/night ($95 on peak long-weekend nights) and includes 3+ individual daily walks, supervised play with the daycare group, three meals a day with the food you bring, medication administration, and photo/video updates. Dogs who attend even occasional daycare settle into boarding much faster — the space and the people are already familiar.

What King West Dogs Get at Fluffy Paws

Every daycare day includes supervised play grouped by size, energy, and temperament; 2 individual outdoor walks (not group walks); behavior-training reinforcement at no extra cost; meals if you bring your dog’s own food; medication administration; and daily photo/video updates.
